Calcery: Centaur. As was the crew, presumably. No clue what it says. I think only two of your species’ written languages have been fully net documented.
Talita stares at the writing.

I love the sense of scale! And man, it’s gotta be difficult to be suddenly reminded of how much stuff she’s missing from her birth culture and species…it wasn’t even an option to her that it might be centaur writing. (I suppose centaurs are probably less likely to be running around in space though, and they probably don’t have distinctive spaceships or anything…) What direction are we supposed to be reading the writing in?

The writing direction is… non-linear. The top of the writing is oriented to the non-engine end of the vessel, though.

Yup. At the time Talita accepted this job, there were no commercially available EVA suits for centaur aliens. She modified it from a centaur GMH pattern. Biggest differences are the upper torso, helmet, and different pipes for oxygen supply and CO2 scrubbing.

It seems like the size of the helmet means she has to keep her trunk tucked under her chin. I assume Talita doesn’t mind because she normally always keeps it there anyway, but would a homeworld centaur find having their trunk movement restricted like that uncomfortable?
